      Las Alturas Vineyard - Monterey County. Our Las Alturas Vineyard is located in the southern portion of the Santa Lucia Highlands, known locally as the mission district. Its coastal climate is cool, but it enjoys warmer afternoon temperatures and tamer winds than the northern portion of the appellation. The combination of this climate with site-specific farming consistently produces pinot noirs of great texture, depth and balance. Soil: Gloria sandy loam; Acres: 30.2; Climate: Cool, very sunny; Yield/Acre: 2.04 tons; Season (Bloom to Harvest): 6/9/08 to 10/22/08; French Oak Barrels: 9 months; Growing Season Avg High Temp: 79.3 degrees F daytime; Elevation: 540-1210 feet. Winemaker: Joseph J. Wagner. Alc. 14.8% by vol.
